History: Collection of biofilms on the littoral part in a Siberian lake (Kiranskoye) in July 2005. Original isolation was performed by Baldanova D. in 2006. Later, it was given to Dr Namsaraev Z.B. for molecular identification. This strain was characterized by Dr Zorigto Namsaraev. He named it ‘Leptolyngbya sp. Kir D8’.
