DSM 1607
Medium: LB-Lennox
Selection marker: streptomycin (25 μg/ml)
Temperature: 37°C
Genotype: F- araC14 leuB6(Am) Δ(gpt-proA)62 lacY1 glnX44(AS) galK2(Oc) λ- recA13 rpsL20 xylA5 mtl-1 thiE1 [hsdS20] (Source: CGSC 12554)
Phenotype: StrR rB- mB-
Properties: HB101 is a hybrid E. coli K12xB strain used for plasmid propagation. The strain contains the recA13 mutation which minimizes recombination events and aids in insert stability. Additionally, this strain carries the hsdS20(rB-mB-) restriction-minus genotype which prevents cleavage of cloned DNA by endogenous restriction enzymes. HB101 is suitable for many molecular biology applications, including cloning with limited amounts of DNA of vectors that do not require α-complementation for blue/white screening.
Further information: The streptomycin resistance has been experimentally verified bij BCCM/GeneCorner.

BCCM/GeneCorner also verified the sensitivity of the strain to ampicillin, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, tetracycline, spectinomycin and zeocin.
