Selection marker: Erythromycin (ery)
Replicon: Enterococcus faecalis plasmid pAD1 origin
Host range: Enterococcus (formerly Streptococcus) faecalis
Gram-positive bacterial strains
Parental clone: pAM2005E
Further information: pAM2005K is a miniplasmid from pAD1.
The plasmid was derived from pAM2005E to reduce its size. It consists of the large KpnI fragment of pAM2005E, containing the Tn917-lacZ inducible fusion insert (NR5) and the traA, traB, C and E regions, shown to be important for pheromone regulation. The uvr gene encoding UV resistance is lost.
