| Further information: | The plasmid was constructed by combining the lacZ gene with multiple cloning site from pUC19, the erythromycin resistance gene and the pAMβ1 origin of replication from pIL253 and the origin of replication from pACYC184. This plasmid is an E. coli - Lactococcus shuttle cloning vector, allowing the cloning of large DNA fragments (more than 16 kb), blue-white selection of the inserted fragments, and high stability of the constructs. The nucleotide sequence of the pAZIL vector corresponds with the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database accession number FR872379.1, except pAZIL does not contain the cos site (positions 7102-8186). |
