Cloned DNA: Human αN-catenin cDNA (aNctn, CAP-R, CTNNA2, catna2); fragment
Promoter: Phage T7 gene 10 promoter (T7g10)
Phage T3 promoter
Escherichia coli lac operon promoter
binding site:
Terminator: -
Selection marker: Ampicillin (amp)
Replicon: Escherichia coli plasmid pMB1 origin
Phage f1 origin
Host range: Escherichia coli
Parental clone: pBluescriptIISK-
Further information: The plasmid was constructed by inserting a 1850 bp EcoRI-ClaI fragment of human αN-catenin cDNA (haNctn) into the unique EcoRI and ClaI expression sites of pBluescriptIISK-.
When cloning a fragment downstream from the lac promoter it may be advisable to use lacI(q) strains in order to prevent fortuitous expression of a possibly noxious polypeptide.
The nucleotide sequence of the haNctn cDNA corresponds with the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database (Release 35; Accession number M94151.2).
Other name of the plasmid is pαNcatEC.
EMBL Accession number: M94151.2, view at EMBL, GenBank, DDBJ
Latest sequence update: 11/04/1994
Authenticity test: The plasmid still needs to be subjected to the authenticity test.
Class: Recombinant plasmid
Type: Plasmid
History of deposit: This plasmid was deposited by Dr C. Petit(1).
