| Further information: | This plasmid was constructed as follows: a 616 bp EcoRI-AvaI fragment, containing part of the coding sequence of mouse E-cadherin, was blunted (Mung Bean Nuclease) and inserted into the SmaI site of pUC19. The orientation of the inserted fragment is not known. The plasmid can be used as a probe vector. When cloning a fragment downstream from the lac promoter it may be advisable to use lacI(q) strains in order to prevent fortuitous expression of a possibly noxious polypeptide.
