Further information: | Because of the presence of the lacI gene, multiple copies of pREP4 ensure high levels of lac repressor and tight regulation of protein expression. Due to mutations in the ribosome binding site of the neomycin resistance gene, pREP4 requires only 25 μg/ml of kanamycin for selection. The plasmid is compatible with all plasmids carrying the ColE1 origin of replication. The nucleotide sequence of the vector corresponds with the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database accession number A18755.1. |
