Further information: | The plasmid was constructed by cloning the T. rubrum TERG_08591 coding sequence into the pYES2 yeast expression vector. The plasmid contains the GAL1 promoter for inducible expression of genes by galactose and repression by glucose. ABC transporters or ATP-Binding Cassette transporters consist of multiple subunits, transmembrane proteins and membrane-associated ATPases which utilize the energy of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding and hydrolysis to provide the energy needed for the translocation of substrates across membranes, either for uptake or for export of the substrate. The T. rubrum TERG_08591 coding sequence shows close homology to the A. fumigatus MDR1 coding sequence. The plasmid pYES2-TERG_08591 is also available in Saccharomyces cerevisiae under accession number LMBP 12080. The nucleotide sequence of the T. rubrum TERG_08591 cDNA corresponds with the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database accession number MK787260.1. Other name of the plasmid is pYES2_TERG_08591. |
