| Further information: | The plasmid contains a fragment of the human IRAK2 coding sequence, encoding the death domain (DD). While the original publication of Muzio et al. (1997) mentions a fragment encoding amino acids 1 to 96 of human IRAK2, sequencing analysis at BCCM/GeneCorner indicates that the plasmid only contains a fragment encoding amino acids 1 up to 92. There is uncertainty about the presence of a second enhancer in the SV40 early promoter. The absence of a second enhancer in this promoter may cause bacterial leakage expression of the Tn5 neomycin resistance gene. This would cause transformed E. coli cells to be resistant to kanamycin, although growth should be reduced compared to growth on medium containing ampicillin. Other name of the plasmid is pcDNA3-AU1-hIRAK2-DD. |
