| Further information: | The plasmid is used for prokaryotic expression under control of the tightly regulated trc promoter. The presence of the lacI(q) gene, leading to overproduction of the lac repressor (LacI) to control the trc promoter activity, makes it possible to expand the host range of the vector to non-lacI(q) strains (e.g. MC1061). The nucleotide sequence of the pTrc99A vector corresponds with the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database accession number M22744.1, starting at another position and inverted and complemented. |
