Further information: | The plasmid was created by isolating the rLUC coding sequence from pSV-Sport-Rluc and cloning it into the pSVSportlacZEMCVFluc vector, replacing the lacZ gene. This plasmid is a dicistronic expression vector with the internal ribosome entry site (IRES) of the encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) in the intercistronic region between upstream rLUC and downstream LUCm coding sequences. The IRES can drive translation of the downstream LUCm sequence independently of the 5'-cap structure bound to the 5'-end of the mRNA molecule. Other names of the plasmid are pcDNA3RLucEMCVFLuc and pcDNA3-RF-EMCV. |
