| Further information: | The plasmid was constructed by PCR amplifying part of the pWH1277 plasmid, the aacC1 gentamicin resistance gene and part of the pBluescriptIISK(-) plasmid, and ligating these three fragments together. pWH1277 provides an origin of replication for Acinetobacter spp.. This plasmid is an E. coli-Acinetobacter spp. shuttle vector, intended for gene cloning and expression in multidrug resistant Acinetobacter species. pVRL1 is maintained in the absence of antibiotic selection by the presence of a toxin-antitoxin system. The nucleotide sequence of this plasmid corresponds with the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database accession number MG462882.1, except for the region between the gentamicin resistance CDS and the A. calcoaceticus nickase-like CDS. The 3' end of the latter is missing. |
