Sulfonamide (Sul)
Replicon: Escherichia coli plasmid pMB1 origin
Host range: Escherichia coli
Parental clone: pUC19; pACM1
Further information: The plasmid was constructed by inserting an EcoRI/KpnI fragment of Klebsiella oxytoca plasmid pACM1 in pUC19.
A clone was selected from a library on Mueller-Hinton II agar with 76 μg/ml sulfamethoxazole.
The plasmid contains the complete integron cassettes aacC1, conferring resistance to gentamicin and aadA1, conferring resistance to streptomycin and spectinomycin.
The plasmid further contains the SulI gene, conferring resistance to sulphonamides.
The nucleotide sequence of the parental pACM1 plasmid corresponds with the Genbank accession number KJ541681.1.
